My Darling Old Mannie,
I am ready to atone, in a measure for my conduct to you the other night, & it seems to be the best way will be for me to write you an apology.
I am heartily sorry both for what I did & said, & beg you will forgive me. I can only say that I will do all in my power to prevent the recurrence of anything like it, & will try ever so hard to curl my temper.
The charges that I made against you of course were untrue, & I am more than ashamed to have made them.
If there is anything more that I can do, I am ready to do it, but please, please be good & forgive me & be old Mannie again,
I have only to add that I am writing of my own free will, because since Saturday, I have been very conscious that I had been in the wrong.
With fondest love
Believe me to be your loving wife
G.G.
